A simple beef version of the classic pot pie. A true comfort food that will feed the whole family!

Ingredients
- 1 pound Five Marys top round or sirloin steak, diced
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2-3 medium sized carrots, diced
- 1 1/2 cups mushrooms, sliced
- 2 rounded tablespoons flour
- 2 cups beef stock
- 1 tablespoon beef bouillon
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 1 beaten egg
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- In a large skillet, brown the diced steak and onion in the butter over medium to medium-high heat.
- Add the carrots and mushrooms.
- Cook until the mushrooms are tender.
- Sprinkle the flour over veggies and cook until the flour is dissolved.
- Add the beef stock and bouillon, then stir until slightly thickened.
- Taste for seasoning.
- Scoop the mixture into a baking tray slightly smaller than 9×13 inches.
- Lay a sheet of thawed puff pastry over top.
- Brush the beaten egg over the pastry, and bake uncovered roughly 30 minutes or until the pastry is puffed and golden.
