November 1, 2022

Welcome, November. 🍁 Things change so quickly, it feels like we go from summer days jumping in four wheelers in flip flops and ball caps to winter days of making woodstove fires and blanketing horses and feeding hay. Fall leaves are all on the ground and we woke up to snow. The girls cut firewood for us and it’s stacked in the shed – but only enough for a week or so. We’ve never been the smart winter ranchers to stick up firewood and instead it’s our weekly Sunday ritual from now until the warm temperatures come back. The days are shorter and we come in sooner to sit by the fire or make dinner earlier. There isn’t a “slow season” in ranching – but the winter months make us slow down a little and find more time to just be. 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡 #winterranchlife #m5bunkhouse #myfourmarys #november1 #homestead #ranchlife photo by @joyprouty #fivemarys
