Mastermind Workshop in Pawshuska, Oklahoma!
Last month, in the middle of May, Danna (from Rural Revival) and I put together an in-person Mastermind workshop for small business entrepreneurs from all around the United States. There was such an awesome mix of small businesses – ranchers, flower farmers, coffee shop and bakery owners, writers, nutritionists, fish farmers, dog trainers, sod and hay farmers… and MORE!
There were so many inspiring business owners working and learning together. We had a ball in Pawhuska and I’m so thankful for my team of gals helping me pull this off AND the incredible ladies that joined us in person and virtually (SIGN UP HERE!) from all over! Events are a lot of work – but they are also a whole lot of fun with my crew!
Here’s a daily run down of the workshop!
Tuesday
Everyone arrived on Tuesday to Coy. T Ranch where we had a gorgeous long table welcome dinner. The delicious five course meal was catered by Royers Round Top Cafe (just look at that charcuterie spread!) and the Whiskey Sisters worked their magic behind the bar!
It was raining on and off all day on Tuesday as we were getting everything prepped – and it stopped just in time to get the table ready! We were all hands on deck getting set up – and I’m so happy with how it turned out. This table is actually set up in the driveway on the ranch – just look at that stunning view!
Wednesday
We arrived to Pawhuska on Monday night and started getting everything ready for the event right away on Tuesday morning (after a big breakfast at The Pioneer Woman’s Mercantile – so good!) Ree Drummond has an event center just a couple doors down from her shop and restaurant – so we all gathered there from 8AM – 5PM everyday.
We had a pretty epic line up of speakers – Danna and I kicked it off on Wednesday morning with topics on owning your audience, building your brand, diversifying your revenue, podcasting, and the entrepreneurial spirit. Throughout the rest of the day there were SO many topics covered – everything was pretty packed in… pitching your story and getting in the press, Adobe Illustrator 101, balancing your life and dreams, email marketing, brand photography, building a strong website, and more.
I was kept busy making sure all of the speakers were being recorded for our virtually community – but one of my favorite parts of the day was seeing all of the awesome women connecting with each other in between speakers and during breakout sessions. There is something really special about being in person with people problem solving, brainstorming, and sharing stories. I’m so glad we were able to make it happen.
After a FULL day, we headed to Woolaroc Museum & Wildlife Preserve for a museum tour, a delicious meal, and a fabulous dinner speech by Nikki Callison of Callison Ranch. Nikki is a dear friend and I think I speak for everyone that we all felt lucky to hear her share her story.
Thursday
We had another full day of speakers on Thursday! We once again covered a huge variety of topics – Shopify, Showit, Squarespace, Canva, hosting events, merchandise and retail, purpose over profits, subscription boxes, small town revivals, and more.
That night we headed to Old West Buffalo Co. for another delicious meal, and the Whiskey Sisters were back behind the bar! We had such a fun time relaxing and chatting with everybody – and managed to get this awesome group shot!
Friday
We had an epic WORK DAY on Friday. First, we started early and Kendall spoke about hosting your own on-farm events. Then everyone had their notebooks and laptops and broke out into different groups based on our speaker topics from the past two days.
Some people headed back home during the day, but everyone that stayed had SUCH a fun time at Osage Outfitters. They have a really fun bar attached to a clothing store, boot shop, and custom hat fittings. It was so cool to see their process and everyone headed out with a new branded hat… or two or three 😉
