A really delicious and easy family dinner!
Prep Time : 5 minutes
Cook Time : 10-12 minutes
Serves : 4
Ingredients
1 1/2 pounds Five Marys Farm sirloin steaks
Salt and pepper to taste
Pinch of chili flakes or Five Marys Farms spice rub
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
4-6 clove of garlic, smashed and diced
1-2 tablespoons honey
6-8 medium to large sized carrots, peeled and sliced
2-3 tablespoons chopped chives
Instructions
1.) Slice the sirloin steaks against the grain into half-inch thick slices, roughly 2 inches long.
2.) Season the steak strips with salt and pepper and spice rub.
3.) In a large cast iron or heavy bottom non-stick pan, melt the butter and olive oil.
4.) Sear the strips on all sides over medium-high heat. Don’t be afraid to leave the meat to brown and crisp before turning it.
5.) When the steak is almost done, add the garlic and honey.
6.) Stir to cook 1-2 minutes.
7.) Remove the steak and garlic with a slotted spoon, leaving the juices in the pan.
8.) Reduce the heat to medium.
9.) Add the sliced carrots and 2 tablespoons of water.
10.) Season the carrots with salt and pepper.
11.) Cook 4-5 minutes until the water has evaporated and the vegetables are crisp-tender.
12.) Add the steak back to the pan and serve garnished with chives.
