Morning routine feeding the bottle baby lambs! These girls have a system down pat – and they love their babies. ♥️
.
We added a new little white lamb yesterday. It was born late in the season (we are pretty much done lambing) and was abandoned in the barn by its mom. It’s doing well and has a lot of vigor – so the girls named it Jeffra which I think has now been changed to Jennifer.
.
We had close to 300 new lambs born this season and not many bottle babies which is great. One year we had 11 bottle babies! We lost a few, which is common in lambing (they have a much higher mortality rate shortly after birth than cattle do) but overall it was a productive season.
.
These lambs, at least the older crew, will transition to eating hay and alfalfa soon. It’s a lot of work to make their bottles twice a day so we don’t miss the work when they are done – but we sure miss these cute scenes everyday!
Love getting to see the video!!! Your stories were the only “show” my kids watched and we missed seeing them when we dropped Instagram. My boys play five Marys and have their own toy dog they named Dixie to help with their chores. It’s so nice for them to see examples of other kids helping around the home.
Precious. So very sweet! 💕
