Carhartt is my favorite brand for working on the ranch, lounging around at home or heading out on a date night. I’ve been a Carhartt ambassador for four years now and I have to say – their women’s line just keeps getting better and better!
Their clothes are well made, durable, comfortable and they always have the best pockets.
CARHARTT FAVORITES
My Carhartt FALL FAVORITES!
I used to think that Carhartt was just for trade workers (and was a little jealous how cool my construction worker friends looked in their worn in Carhartts) but it didn’t take me long to regret not buying Carhartt clothes much sooner – they are great for ANYBODY no matter what you do or where you wear them!
I wanted to share my favorite pieces from the latest women’s line this year. Some I got online and some I shopped at the Medford Carhartt store – if you have a store near you I highly recommend you stop by and try some things on, their stores are beautiful and always so well organized.
Here are my current favorites with links to the products in the description if you are shopping online too – and if you only get one item from this list, I’ll tell you right now you need the Carhartt Utility Leggings!
utility knit leggings
I absolutely love these Utility Knit Leggings! I know I am always singing their praises, but seriously they are a game changer. There are two versions of these leggings, I love them both but I’ll try to describe why they are different….
CARHARTT FORCE LIGHTWEIGHT UTILITY LEGGING– these are a lighter-weight fabric with less structure. They are super comfortable and even great for layering under bibs or winter pants. They have a side pocket for your phone and a zip pocket on top of it. They tend to be a little shorter in length and are overall great for all year long, any kind of activity!
But if you are working in harder conditions or beating up your workwear, I’d go with the heavier weight ones….
CARHARTT FORCE® UTILITY KNIT LEGGING – these Force leggings are probably my top choice. They are a thicker material and have a little more structure with knee reinforcements and thicker pockets where you’d find jean pockets on the hips and on the sides too. They have a high waist band and offer great support (and a little tummy hold!) and are the best things ever for working in.
From Carhartt (I LOVE THIS!) : “These women’s leggings were created after visiting a woman at a pig farm. From lifting heavy pigs to jumping over concrete walls, the work she did called for the ultimate mix of flex and durability. These leggings are made of stretchy fabric that wicks sweat and fights odor. A bit thicker than your average leggings, they’re reinforced at the knees for strength and feature abrasion-resistant pockets.”
They come in four colors including these two-toned navy and heather ones! The others are black, brown and dark green.
the new sherpa jacket!
This cozy SHERPA JACKETmight be my most favorite unexpected item in the Fall line… the red plaid fleece is so cute and it’s the perfect fit! I love that it zips up/down all the way so it’s easy to take off and layer. It has great pockets and a cozy collar when zipped up.
This color pattern is called “Redwood” but it also comes in Black and Fog Green.
red shorline jacket
This is my favorite new Red Shorline Jacket– it’s long and covers your bum, fleece lined, has a hood and is water resistant. And of course – LOTS of great pockets!! It comes in this “flame” red, a deep wine purple and black.
Carhartt says “There’s a reason why the Shoreline Jacket is the most popular waterproof jacket we make. This women’s jacket not only keeps you dry in heavy rain, it’s also breathable, versatile and equipped with plenty of pockets. Weighing in at 4.8 ounces, this lightweight layer has thumbhole cuffs that can be tucked into the sleeves. It features zip pockets, flap pockets, and inner pockets for your essentials.”
double-front railroad stripe bib
The Double-Front Railroad Stripe Bibsare one of my favorite classic Carhartt overalls. They are light-weight (unlined) and comfortable in any kind of weather.
I just layer fleece lined leggings under them for colder mornings but they are lots of fun to wear any time of the year.
Carhartt says “You don’t have to be working on the railroad to appreciate the flex and durability of these women’s bibs. They’re made with stretch canvas, so you can swing a hammer or lug backyard brush without a problem. The overalls have a rugged double-front design featuring plenty of pockets.”
the gilliam jacket
I LOVE this jacket…. and my little secret is I buy it from the men’s side of the store! It’s called the GILLAM JACKETand I wear a men’s small.
Brian has it in Burnt Orange and it looks so sharp on him. It’s super lightweight but keeps you warm and toasty.
Carhartt says “This jacket keeps you warm without the bulk. Weighing in at 1.75 ounces, the durable CORDURA® fabric shell is lighter than most t-shirts. It’s insulated and quilted for extra comfort, and it features a water-repellent coating that shrugs off light rain and snow. This versatile jacket can be worn with inner or outer layers when the temperature plummets, and it comes equipped with ample pockets.”
But don’t worry – they also make a WOMEN’S GILLAM JACKETnow! It’s more fitted but same great light-weight material. It comes in Black or Navy.
the classic carhartt beanies
This cute BRIGHT BLUE BEANIE is a Carhartt signature, but has an added fun embroidery on the side too!
These beanies are a staple in our house – we keep a basket of them by the front door to grab on your way outside in the winter… keeps your ears warm and toasty even on a cold 4-wheeler ride!
and I’m wearing the CLARKSBURG GRAPHIC SLEEVE PULLOVER SWEATSHIRT (more below!)
HERE ARE A FEW OF MY OTHER FAVORITE BEANIES!… (click photo for link)
The Rib-Knit Fisherman Beanie is almost as good as a handmade #janknit (right Mom!?) It’s lighter and looser fitting than the traditional beanies so you can wear it all day long and it’s great for that in between weather when it’s still warm and sunny in the afternoons. Comes in a bunch of cute colors with the script carhartt logo embroidered in just the right spot! Find this Beanie HERE (and click for multiple color options!)
CLARKSBURG GRAPHIC SLEEVE PULLOVER SWEATSHIRT – I love this hoodie! I have it in like every color and my girls do too 🙂 The XS fits JJ and Maisie and Francie wears a small. I wear a large and it’s the best!
the gilliam vest
The light-weight puffy jacket has a cute vest version too! I think I am wearing the Men’s Gilliam Vestversion in this bright blue… but the Women’s Gilliam Vest is fun and fitted and great for layering. I LOVE this vest with the Utility Leggings too!
They also make a KIDS GILLIAM JACKET now which is adorable and super cozy!!
It only comes in black but has a range of sizes.
These will likely sell out fast in some sizes so order now for winter!
the weathered wildwood jacket
This is the first Carhartt Jacket style I ever got and it’s a classic. The Weathered Wildwood Jacket is fleece lined, the perfect fit for working or just staying warm, has a great hood and is always my go-to pick out of the mudroom line-up.
the denim sherpa-lined jacket!
THIS jacket is hands-down the one I’m most excited about this season…. the CARHARTT® RUGGED FLEX® DENIM SHERPA-LINED JACKET! It’s so stylish and really comfortable. Fleece lined with pretty buttons, great pockets and a sharp collar. The girls in my shop have all ordered one for winter too!
It has a vintage feel right off the rack and Carhartt says “This denim jacket was built to handle whatever the workday throws your way. Our Rugged Flex® technology can bend and stretch all day, and its finished off with a soft fleece lining for extra warmth and comfort.”
and if you need a SUPER warm, winter jacket… the CARHARTT® YUKON EXTREMES® INSULATED PARKA is the BOMB! It comes in Black or Burnt Olive and the hood is the best thing ever.
Carhartt says “Carhartt Yukon Extremes gear is engineered for ultimate performance in the coldest conditions. This parka packs a serious punch of warmth with a whopping 390 grams of 3M™ Thinsulate insultaion, and its CORDURA® shell adds an extra layer of battle-tested toughness for incredible durability.”
and a chore coat for your pup!
And every good Dog needs a CARHARTT CHORE COAT! Bitsy was modeling the bright orange hunting coat – but it comes in all the classic Carhartt colors to keep your dog toasty while they are working this winter too!
A few more of my favorites that I didn’t have photos of, but here are the links!…
TheSTRAIGHT FIT DOUBLE-FRONT JEAN – these are really awesome, reinforced jeans.
My friend Erin at Floret swears by these – I think she said she has 12 pairs!
They wear in great and come in long sizes too. They have great pockets (of course!) and high-waisted enough to stay up while you work.
I’d suggest trying the jeans on in a store if you can – you want to make sure they are a good fit!
CLARKSBURG GRAPHIC SLEEVE PULLOVER SWEATSHIRT – I love this hoodie! I have it in like every color and my girls do too 🙂
The XS fits JJ and Maisie and Francie wears a small. I wear a large and it’s the best!
CARHARTT® RELAXED FIT MIDWEIGHT CREWNECK CARHARTT GRAPHIC SWEATSHIRT – this is a great crewneck version too!
Durable and comfortable for sure! Also love the history behind this still family-owned company, and how the many generations of the hardworking Carhartt family established such an exceptional brand!
